Churg Strauss Syndrome Signs and Symptoms

Churg Strauss syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the medium and small blood vessels.  It is one of the many forms of vasculitis, and it is also known as allergic granulomatosis or allergic angiitis.  Churg Strauss Syndrome mostly occurs in people with a history of asthma or allergies, and involves mainly the blood vessels of the lungs.  We have put together a list of common signs and symptoms of Churg Strauss Syndrome below.

Also, we have information on diagnosis, supportive natural therapies, helpful books and valuable resources for patients.

Diagnosis of Churg Strauss Syndrome

It is difficult to diagnose Churg Strauss syndrome because the disorder has so many symptoms associated with other conditions.  Most people with Churg Strauss syndrome have asthma, as well as peripheral neuropathy.  A higher than normal white blood cell count of eosinophils is strongly indicative of Churg Strauss syndrome.  As well, many people have chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.  A blood test can confirm the presence of autoantibodies in the blood that can help in the diagnosis of Churg Strauss syndrome.
